I know...long time since I posted. The guilt is weighing heavily on my mind, so here we go:
Update
First, L had his second birthday in April. I took the camera down to grandma and grandpa's for the blessed event. The kids had a blast. It was general conference weekend and I was able to catch in a few words (here and there) of what the general authorities said. (I think I have given up on actually watching the conference addresses until my kids are much, much older. As for now, I just watch the replays on my computer afterwards.) We had a nice dinner for L on Sunday and then did some cake & ice cream with the whole family. He loved seeing all the balloons and was even more excited when I let him decorate his own cake. Of course, the evening got better when he opened his gifts of tools and anything "boy" you can think of. I seriously wondered if having two older sisters would hinder his "manliness", but it hasn't. If anything, it has convinced him that tools and guns are really what life is about. Well, since taking my camera down for the event, I can't seem to find it. Jon isn't too thrilled with me about this, but I keep the hunt going.
K just loves being a "big girl". She reminds me multiple times a day that she is and becomes very agitated if anyone tries to tell her otherwise. K and M are taking hula classes together. I love watching them dance in the little hula skirts that grandma Shirley made for them. We started the class late, so the girls won't be in the recital next week, but I am going to bring the video camera this week so I can get some good video of them at practice.
M is doing great in kindergarten. I really have been amazed at her progress and how well she reads. M is determined to learn her big two wheeler this summer. She reminds Jon every week that he needs to take her out to practice. Honestly, I have a hard time watching her crash over and over again. I don't know how I will ever teach her to drive a car.
I guess the biggest news from our family is that we are going to be welcoming a new baby this fall! The kids are very excited. We find out this week the gender and we have bets going as to what this baby is going to be. K and L are convinced it is a girl. The rest of us are cheering for a boy (although, Jon and I think it really will be a girl). We will be sure to announce later this week.
As for our kitchen, we are so close to finally finishing everything. I have brand new beautiful floors, countertops, sink, and appliances. We are now working on the backsplash and painting the cabinets. The flood was obviously not the most desirable way of getting a new kitchen, but I can now recognize the blessing of it. I will post some pictures as soon as I find my camera.
As for now, I am tired and I am going to call it a night...
