The kids and I always have fun when we head to M's school for their parties. M's kindergarten class had their Valentine's party on Friday this year because the 100th day of school is on the real Valentine's Day (this means another party on Monday). The kids had a blast delivering & opening their valentines, making crafts, playing games, and decorating their own cookies. L got a hold of my camera during the party and now I have lots of lovely shots of his fingers and random things like the floor, the trash can, and so forth.
Of course, I am waiting for tomorrow to hold our family valentine's day. It will start out with a beautiful breakfast of heart shaped pancakes and love potion smoothies. Cupid will be leaving small gifts of love for everyone as the day progresses. And of course, our annual heart shaped pizza to end the day. This little tradition started when Jon and I were just starting to date. We were college students and were dirt poor and our first valentines was spent in my apartment on the living room floor eating pizza. Although, I do jazz up the atmostphere a little with twinkle lights, candles, and we make a very nice place setting on our picnic blanket. It is a great chance to tell the kids how our little family got started.
