Cats, Cats, Cats

As a kid, we always seemed to find stray cats. (They always tended to be the same calico cats too.) So, with a mom with a tender heart for cats and kids who really wanted a pet, we always took them in. And usually, these cats came bearing gifts of little kittens.

Well, I thought this was just a childhood occurence, but apparently I was wrong. The week after the holidays, the girls discovered a new calico cat on our deck. This poor thing did not want to leave us. I decided I wouldn't feed it since Jon would absolutely kill me for doing so, but I did let the girls go out and play with the kitty. However, the next day, this cat brought along a friend. Now, both kitties grace us with their presence each day to the girl's absolute delight. I am just worried that the girls don't become too attached to these cats as I have no idea where they belong (and they seem to be well fed).

Hey, Jared just told me about your blog! I have to say I love cats! I finally got one about a year ago. I had tons of cats/kittens growing up. That cat on your porch looks darling, I say feed them all you want. Hope you guys are doing well!
